D.C. region’s housing market continues to meander along

(RECAP: In the latest data released by RealEstate Business Intelligence, a subsidiary of MRIS, sales, pending sales and prices in the D.C. area remain flat. The number of homes for sale is increasing but remains relatively low. There were 3,569 homes sold in the D.C. region last month, 82 fewer than September 2013. It was the 11th time in the past 12 months that sales have declined year-over-year. Sales volume this year is down 4.3 percent compared with the first nine months of last year, with 1,581 fewer sales than through September 2013. In certain pockets of the area, homes are still being snapped up. Falls Church had more than double its sales, with 20 last month compared to nine in September 2013. Arlington County saw a more than 10 percent increase in sales last month.)
